I went to visit this exhibition today and found it quite confusing. Perhaps it's easier to follow if you've read Memory Palace by Hari Kunzru. I'm under the impression that 'The Thing', who are the rulers of the declining society, believe that humans should unify with nature - known as 'The Wilding' - and that everyone should adopt the impossible nature of not remembering/not possessing the 'art of memory'. I'm unsure. However, I did enjoy the images and structures places around the room that accompanied text from the book. Some artists opted for a comic strip approach, others sculpture and so on. They provided strong visual communication, which helped me understand the writers ideas clearer.
