Postcard of 'Abu Simbel' by Ellen Gallagher
On the back of this postcard I wrote:
"It was frustrating for me as a viewer to look at Gallagher's work because there were certain historical concepts, of which I was not aware of when viewing, that were used to comment on modern issues. However, I could definitely appreciate the prominent theme of African race through out her work. Also, more on a superficial level than anything else, I greatly admired her skill, enthusiastic use of medium and the irresistible tactility of her work.
